Privacy Policy

Data Controller: ClearUp AI is operated by Thao Ngo, located in Vietnam ("we", "us", or "our").

ClearUp AI ("ClearUp AI") is an on-device photo and video cleaner for iPhone. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use the ClearUp AI mobile application and related features (collectively, the "Service").

By using ClearUp AI, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Overview

ClearUp AI is designed for privacy. We do not create user accounts or show ads. Scan, similarity, and blur analysis run locally on your iPhone. We do not send your photos, videos, or photo library metadata to our servers for scanning. We use Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics for product analytics and crash reporting (see Section 2.4). For optional premium subscriptions, we use RevenueCat to manage entitlement status (see Sections 2.5 and 6).

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Photo Library access

With your permission, ClearUp AI accesses your Photo Library to find cleanable items (such as duplicates, similar photos and videos, screenshots, and blurry shots) and to delete items you confirm. You can grant Full Access or Limited Photos, and you can change this any time in iOS Settings.

2.2 Information stored on your device

ClearUp AI may keep a local list of items in its in-app Trash so you can restore them before they are deleted from Photos. Analysis fingerprints and preferences used to speed up scanning may also be stored on device. Media analysis data does not leave your device. Purchase and subscription status may be verified with Apple and RevenueCat as described below.

2.3 Information we do not collect

We do not require an email or password. We do not operate a user account backend for your photos. We do not upload your media to the cloud for analysis. We do not sell your personal information.

2.4 Diagnostics and analytics (Google Firebase)

We automatically collect diagnostic and usage information through Google Firebase:

Firebase and RevenueCat may receive a device or app-instance identifier as part of their SDKs. This data is used to operate, secure, and improve the Service—not to show ads or to sell your personal information. We do not use third-party advertising SDKs. Your photos, videos, and photo library contents are not sent to Firebase.

2.5 Subscription and purchase information

Payments are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions and in-app purchases and to receive related data such as transaction status, product identifiers, purchase dates, renewal or cancellation status, and a device or app-user identifier needed to restore entitlements. RevenueCat may receive a device identifier as part of its SDK. We do not receive your full payment card details.

3. How We Use Information

We use Photo Library access and on-device data to provide scanning, cleanup suggestions, in-app Trash, deletion through Apple’s Photos APIs, and app preferences on your device. We use purchase and subscription information with Apple and RevenueCat to process payments, unlock paid features, restore purchases, and manage entitlements. We use Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics to understand how the app is used, measure stability, diagnose crashes, and improve the Service.

4. Deletion and Trash

Cleaning moves photos and videos to Trash inside ClearUp AI. They stay in Photos until you Empty Trash. Emptying Trash deletes them through Apple’s Photos APIs. Photos then keeps them in Recently Deleted for about 30 days unless you empty that album in the Photos app.

5. How We Store and Retain Information

App data is stored on your device. Uninstalling ClearUp AI removes the app’s local data. Media that remains in Photos or Photos Recently Deleted is managed by Apple and is not controlled by us after deletion through the Photos APIs. Purchase and subscription records processed by Apple and RevenueCat are retained by those providers as needed to operate billing and entitlements. Analytics events and crash reports processed by Google Firebase are retained by Google for as long as needed to operate, secure, and improve the Service (subject to Google’s retention practices for Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics). Support emails are kept only as long as needed to resolve your request.

6. How We Share Information

We do not sell personal information. We do not send your photos or videos to third-party AI providers for scanning. We share information with Google (Firebase) for analytics and crash reporting, with RevenueCat for subscription and purchase management, with Apple when you use App Store billing and system services (such as the Photos framework), when required by law, or to protect rights and safety.

RecipientPurpose
Google (Firebase)Product analytics (Firebase Analytics) and crash reporting (Firebase Crashlytics)—app instance and device information, usage events, and crash diagnostics. Not used for advertising.
RevenueCatSubscription and in-app purchase management (transaction status, product identifiers, entitlement restoration)
AppleApp Store billing, and system services such as the Photos framework for library access and deletion

7. How to Delete Your Data

To remove ClearUp AI’s on-device data, delete the app from your iPhone. Items still in Photos or Photos Recently Deleted must be managed in the Photos app. Revoke Photo Library access under Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → ClearUp AI. Cancel subscriptions under Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Purchase history held by Apple or RevenueCat is managed under their respective policies. Historical analytics and crash records held by Google may remain after you delete the app; email us if you want help with a related deletion request.

8. Your Choices and Controls

You can manage Photo Library permission in iOS Settings, review and restore items from in-app Trash before emptying it, manage or cancel subscriptions through Apple, and contact us with privacy questions.

8.1 Rights for users in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland

If you are in the European Economic Area, UK, or Switzerland, you have rights under applicable data protection law (including the GDPR), including the right to:

Because ClearUp AI processes media on your device and does not operate a user account backend for your photos, most erasure of on-device data is completed by deleting the app and managing Photos content yourself. Historical analytics and crash records on Google may remain; email us if you want additional server-side deletion. To exercise other rights or ask a question, email ivyvyit@gmail.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.

9. Children's Privacy

ClearUp AI is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

10. International Users

Thao Ngo is based in Vietnam. ClearUp AI’s core scanning features run on your device. Analytics and crash data may be processed by Google in countries where Firebase operates. If you contact us by email, that correspondence may be processed in Vietnam.

11. Security

We use reasonable measures appropriate for an on-device app, but no system is completely secure. You are responsible for device passcode and backup settings.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy and will revise the date above when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
